Love You More!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Yes. I saw that eyeroll.
Just another day exploited by companies who sell chocolates and cards and flowers. Oh my!

Perhaps.

But maybe that’s not the real reason you rolled your eyes or felt a sting in your soul.

Fully known and fully loved …  the craving of every soul on this planet. And maybe you’ve never known that kind of love.

To be sure, the world offers lots of alternatives to such a love, each just a selfish substitute for, or perversion of a greater love.

You, nor I, will ever experience this deep kind of love by anyone walking this dirt we call home. If we don’t know God … the One who is love … we will never FEEL loved. No human can possibly love us deeply enough to reach the recesses of our heart. And we can never truly love another unless Love Himself has changed us. Or is changing us. Still.

Today, there will be lots of chocolates and roses delivered. Maybe you will receive some. Maybe you won’t. Perhaps tolu venge rates in your very own style!

Hey. I know this day can be a difficult day. Hard.

Hard for the single, single again, single too long.

Hard for the separated, divorced.

Hard for you, there in a cold marriage, a tension-filled marriage. One trust-bare.

And you, widowed too young, alone for too long.

But you are loved.

You, my friend, are loved by the One who loves best. How you might FEEL doesn’t change that truth. So, FEEL whatever you feel. Go ahead. Feel the sad, the mad, the hurt, the anger, the fear, the frustration. The loneliness, the invisibility. The weight of it all. Feel it deeply.

Now, courageously surrender these feelings to God. Your feelings. Your heart. Your life. He can be trusted with all of it.

He sees you. He knows you. And He loves you on Valentine’s Day. And every day. He loves you more. Most.

Certainly the faithful love of the Lord hasn’t ended; certainly God’s compassion isn’t through! They are renewed every morning. Great is your faithfulness.”

Lamentations 3:22

And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

EPHESIANS 3:18-19

Dear friends, let’s love each other, because love is from God, and everyone who loves is born from God and knows God. The person who doesn’t love does not know God, because God is love.”

1 JOHN 4 :7-8
